Our Goal is FISHING SUCCESS!

Well another great year fishing Lake Erie and Lake Ontario has passed and I hope this letter finds you well. The walleye fishing on Lake Erie this past year was very good along with fantastic Smallmouth Bass fishing. The perch fishing this past year was a challenge through September but when the Lake Erie water finally cooled down the jumbo perch kicked in and the bite was on! King Salmon fishing in beautiful Lake Ontario was also good, not a banner salmon season for the Erie Drifter Team, but we believe this year will be better and always look forward to the challenge of those monster King Salmon.

Our Lake Erie fishing started off in early April and when the high winds and muddy water calmed down the walleye fishing was very good jigging on our famous reefs, close to our home marina. Wild Wings Marina in Oak Harbor, OH is where we live and we take pride in knowing every rock pile were these toothy walleye spawn. The many reefs within 2 miles of our home port our loaded with all the various sportfish in Lake Erie, walleye, smallmouth bass and perch. They all spawn on this huge reef complex and we specialize in knowing where and when these fish in our back yard are most vulnerable.

The Smallmouth Bass fishing this past year was very good for us in the spring and we really enjoy putting our customers on those mighty jumpers. We catch these smallies on custom made tube jigs, specifically designed for our Lake Erie waters. We drift over our favorite shallow reefs dragging these tubes and once we find them we put the hammer down on those ole' boys. We encourage catch and release, however if you get that big one and want to mount it, how could we say NO!

Lake Ontario King Salmon fishing in Point Breeze, NY still remains one of the highlights of Erie Drifter Sportfishing's arsenal to catch trophy fish. As usual Lake Ontario continues to be world class in every way. How good is Point Breeze, NY? In 2013 the area was named by the World Fishing Network as the Ultimate Fishing Town USA. When you look at all the area to fish within the United States and the diversity of fishing that is available, being named the top location is quite impressive. While Salmon fishing around the other Great Lakes, the West Coast or even parts of Alaska are on the decline, the fishing here remains Booming. If you never fished for "Salmon" before and you want a rod busting, reel screaming Chinook Salmon by all means book a charter with us from Mid-July through August 2015- you'll be back for a lifetime!

Our adventures to Canada's Pelee Island this fall for Jumbo Perch and Smallmouth Bass were phenomenal! September was a struggle due to the warm water temperatures but as the Lake Erie waters cooled the Huge Yellow Perch were the attraction and limit catches were daily. We caught some Smallmouth Bass but the customer wanted those tasty Perch and that was our target for the fall season!
